Make Art from What You Have!

Event Details

  • Date:

Introduce your children to the art of found object sculpture making in a hands-on workshop where they select materials and create a 3D work.

You don’t need special art supplies to be creative. Bits of string, twist ties, toothpicks, scraps of fabric…all these can be made into artwork…and kept out of the trash!

Join artist Arminee Chahbazian and Cornerstone Garden Manager Steven Schwager to select materials that appeal to you and craft your own unique 3D sculpture to take home.

This hands-on workshop is inspired by the assemblage “Accumula,” now on view in the exhibition “Arminee Chahbazian: Within Reach,” in the gallery, Canvas at Cornerstone. We will meet at the gallery to view this piece and gather ideas before sitting down to work in The Studio space nearby.

Suggested ages 8 and older.

Adults are encouraged to attend to support the artists. All materials and supplies are provided, including a box to transport your treasure.

Proceeds of this workshop will be donated to the Oceanic Society to support their work keeping trash out of our oceans.
